Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 2025

1. Overview

Cantuum is a decentralized music app built on the Lens protocol. We aim to collect minimal personal data. Much of your activity (e.g. profile, collects, publications) is recorded on public blockchains and may be visible to anyone. This policy describes what we do with information in our control.

2. Information We May Collect or Process

  • Wallet address and on-chain activity: When you connect a wallet, we use your address to show your profile, library, and to facilitate actions (tips, collects). Address and on-chain activity are public on the blockchain and may be indexed by Lens and other services.
  • Lens profile data: If you have a Lens profile, we display profile information (handle, name, avatar, etc.) that is stored on the Lens protocol. We do not independently store this; we read it from the protocol and caches.
  • Local storage and cache: To improve performance, we may store data locally in your browser (e.g. cached playlists, preferences). This stays on your device unless you clear it or use the App on a different device.
  • Usage and errors: If we use analytics or error-reporting tools, we may collect anonymized or pseudonymous usage data or error logs. We do not sell your personal data.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information above to provide and improve the App (e.g. loading your library, showing your profile, enabling tips and collects), to troubleshoot issues, and to comply with applicable law. We do not use your data for advertising or to build a profile for third-party marketing.

4. Third-Party Services

Cantuum relies on third parties, including the Lens protocol, RPC and indexer providers, and possibly CDNs or gateways for content. Those services have their own privacy practices. When you interact with the Lens protocol or sign transactions, your address and actions may be visible to those providers and to the public. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of services you use in connection with the App.

5. Data Retention

We do not retain more data than necessary. On-chain data is permanent and controlled by the protocol. Local cache can be cleared by you. Any logs or analytics we retain will be kept only as long as needed for operation, debugging, or legal compliance.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You can disconnect your wallet and stop using the App at any time. You can clear browser storage to remove local cache. Because much of your activity is on public blockchains, it may not be "deleted" in the traditional sense; we cannot remove or alter on-chain records. Where applicable law gives you rights (e.g. access, correction, deletion), we will honor them to the extent we control the data.

7. Children

Cantuum is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it where we control it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

9. Contact

For privacy-related questions, please use the support or contact options provided in the App or on our official channels.
